Farming beyond the average year: why resilience must shape crop nutritionFarming beyond the average year: why resilience must shape crop nutrition
For generations, farming has worked around seasonal variability. But recent years have brought something much more difficult to manage.

[Case Study] From year-on-year trials to whole-farm confidence: Stuart Tabernor’s Sea2Soil journey[Case Study] From year-on-year trials to whole-farm confidence: Stuart Tabernor’s Sea2Soil journey
Curious about making regenerative agriculture practical and profitable? Join Farm Manager Stuart Tabernor on his journey from cautious small-scale trials to a whole-farm rollout of Sea2Soil across 260 hectares. After witnessing noticeable yield increases and enhanced crop resilience, Stuart is now using this biological approach to supply lower-emissions wheat to Weetabix and oilseed rape for Mellow Yellow products.Discover how integrating soil biology with everyday farming practice is driving success for iconic British food brands. Read the full story to learn how to transition regenerative principles from theory into tangible, whole-farm confidence!
NIAB trials explore fish hydrolysate applications to help deter CSFB feeding in winter OSRNIAB trials explore fish hydrolysate applications to help deter CSFB feeding in winter OSR
Cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) remains one of the biggest barriers to reliable winter oilseed rape (WOSR) establishment. While pressure varies year to year, CSFB is consistently capable of causing significant early plant loss and uneven crops. With fewer effective control tools available, attention is increasingly turning to fundamental changes that can be made during establishment — from prioritising soil health to using integrated approaches that help crops tolerate stress and reduce the impact of early feeding... With conditions improving, farmers are being presented with the opportunity to boost soil health and optimise nutrition early in newly growing crops. Unlocking underground activity is essential when it comes to optimising soil health; future success doesn’t always start where you can see it!
Reduce your reliance on fertiliser and focus on soil health this springReduce your reliance on fertiliser and focus on soil health this spring
Spring finally feels as though it has arrived, but with many fields coming into the season off the back of wet winter weather that saturated soils, managing and improving soil biology, now, is a top priority. With conditions improving, farmers are being presented with the opportunity to boost soil health and optimise nutrition early in newly growing crops. Unlocking underground activity is essential when it comes to optimising soil health; future success doesn’t always start where you can see it!

John Mackay Uses Sea2SoilJohn Mackay Uses Sea2Soil
Bringing an engineering mindset to regenerative farming John has built a comprehensive knowledge of alternative farming systems. See how John's employed a “work smarter, not harder" strategy to his 300+ acre farm in Caithness.
Doug Christie Uses Sea2SoilDoug Christie Uses Sea2Soil
With scientific rigour in his farming decisions and a systematic approach to trialling products, Doug demonstrates evidence-based regenerative farming by employing Sea2Soil on his 1500+ acre organic farm in Fife.

Sea2Soil next-phase research trials begin
We are currently working with Nottingham University soil dept looking at microbial activity related to S2S. Working with Notts Uni we are comparing regeneration agriculture with conventional agriculture practices to establish the level of microbial increase using Sea2Soil as the fungi/bacteria food the underground livestock require. Both glasshouse and farm trials will be the used to establish short to long term results on an independent basis. Completed by this summer the results should be available for the Autumn applications of Sea2Soil through UK distribution. Also, work is underway with...

Sea2Soil invests in next-phase trials in partnership with Nottingham University
Sea2Soil invests in next-phase trials in partnership with Nottingham University to research how the soil improver encourages essential microbial activity  As we move into the third year since our first farmer-led trials, the Sea2Soil team is excited to announce that next-phase research and development is currently underway.  In partnership with the Nottingham University Soil Department, we are investing time and money into how Sea2Soils’ performance stacks up against traditional farming methods. By comparing regeneration agriculture with conventional agriculture practices we’re working...

There are new ways of reducing your inputs, while increasing your ROI and embracing regenerative farming
There are new ways of reducing your inputs, while increasing your ROI and embracing regenerative farming
Signs of Spring are everywhere, and while work in the world of agriculture never stops, this month we will see efforts ramp up - from the drilling, or sowing, of the sugar beet to fertilising and crop spraying. At a local level, we may still only be seeing the seeds of regenerative agriculture taking hold, but as reported in the Financial Times recently, at a global level, the well-coined phrase is now ‘firmly cemented in corporate parlance’ as well as across some of ‘the sustainability plans of big food companies such as Nestlé, Unilever and Danone’. With leaps being made ‘up ther...

Agriculture has landed at an interesting turning point - where do we go now?
There’s no denying that agriculture and all of us working within it, have landed at a very interesting turning point.  The times ahead are undoubtedly exciting, they hold incomparable potential and opportunity in fact. As we begin to navigate through a massive transformation, following the last 50 years of reliance on NPK, industry evolution has been steady, and change has been minimal.   It’s hard to predict the future, otherwise, we’d all be millionaires, but that element of the unknown is where I believe we can tap into a whole new approach; led by creative thinking an...

Sea2Soil’s Regenerative Farming Event with Expert Plant & Soil Health Educator Joel Williams
With the next generation of farmers starting to manage their family farms, the challenges of climate change and the cost of fertilisers rapidly increasing, regenerative farming practices are becoming a key focus within the industry.  British farmers now want to find out more about using natural products to support their growth, the quality of their produce and the future of the UK farming industry in a sustainable and cost-effective way.  For that reason, we hosted an exciting event featuring expert independent plant and soil health educator Joel Williams on 10th November 2023 to provid...
