Meet Bob Priest, currently farming organically in Bude, Cornwall, alongside his wife. Bob is currently involved in a trial with AHDB and Tom Tolputt from Terrafarmer to discover how a blend of Sea2Soil, 'bugs' and molasses impacts 50% of his grass fields to give the team an indication of what is working and what isn't. Despite already being located in a good growing area, Bob admits there is still something lacking in their soils. Tom is hoping this addition will give a higher protein value in the grass on Bob's trial fields. So far, they have seen a 25% increase in protein in fields where the mix had been applied. Still in the business of production, Bob and his team need to look to soils to provide food for cattle and sheep, so improving yields and proteins is a win-win.
