Long-Term Learning: Behind the Research Driving Sea2Soil’s Soil Trials

Research agronomist, Guy Gibson, co-ordinator of the trials Sea2Soil is currently running, introduces their purpose. In field trials, where Sea2Soil is being tested on tramlines next to each other, they are 2 years into a 5-year programme. In other trials, we can go back 6-7 years and compare how the product is performing to understand the difference Sea2Soil is having based on a statistical database, which will show yield and crop quality improvements. Sea2Soil is working with NIAB, Eurofins and the University of Nottingham, with whom they will be returning to 7-8 sites to drill down and see what is going on in the soil as part of this long-term research.
